OVERVIEW

Concerns over the state economy, budget cuts, and North Carolina's future engendered an initiative within NCNG to learn about the state's revenue system and educate colleagues within the philanthropic community about the need to remodel the state's tax code. Working with the NCNG Policy Committee, a working group has been leading efforts to educate the NCNG membership about the need for tax modernization.

An education statement explaining the need for tax modernization, approved by the NCNG Board in February and membership in March, is available here.

NCNG member foundations interested in organizing and hosting tax modernization education briefings for foundation boards, staff, and grantees are encouraged to contact the NCNG staff for assistance in agenda planning.
