Megan Smith Joins The Duke Endowment as a Senior Accountant

The Duke Endowment is pleased to announce that Megan Smith has
joined its staff as a senior accountant.

 

The Duke Endowment is pleased to announce that Megan Smith has
joined its staff as a senior accountant.

Smith comes to the Endowment from Grant Thornton, where she spent six years in public accounting with an emphasis on not-for-profit tax and human resource consulting. She also orchestrated quarterly events across the Carolinas for the Women at Grant Thornton Business Resource Group.

“It is an honor to join such a great organization,” said Smith. “I am excited to be a part of the Endowment’s Finance team as we support all facets of the organization to ensure compliance and good stewardship of Mr. Duke’s funds.”

“We are thrilled to have Megan join our team,” said Karen Rogers, chief financial officer at The Duke Endowment. “She brings a wealth of knowledge to the work we do. We are confident that her perspective will help us strengthen our efforts within the department and throughout the Endowment.”

Smith graduated from Appalachian State University with a Master of Science in Accounting with a concentration in taxation and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Accounting. She is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a member of the North Carolina Association of CPAs and the American Institute of CPAs. She is a native of Charlotte, North Carolina.
