Conclusions and Recommendations of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Opportunity Task Force

The 20-member Opportunity Task Force released its final report to the community on March 27, 2017.  Task Force Co-Chairs Dee O’Dell and Dr. Ophelia Garmon-Brown spoke to the Donors Forum in 2016 and are back to share the highlights of the group’s final report and recommendations.  This will be an opportunity to hear a first-hand account of the decisions the Task Force made over the course of 20 months of convening and a discussion of next steps for the work.  Our hope is that every individual, organization, and foundation can find a way to become involved in the Leading on Opportunity work moving forward.  Please join us to learn more.

ABOUT THE DONORS FORUM: The Charlotte Donors Forum is an informal association of grantmakers in the greater Charlotte region. The Forum strives to promote responsible and effective grantmaking and to encourage and support cooperation and networking opportunities among grantmakers. We host quarterly “lunch and learns” around various topics of interest to local funders. Please note that lunches are available to Donors Forum grantmakers only. Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate non-grantmaker guests.

If you have ideas for the Forum to explore, or if you know grantmakers who you would like to invite to the Forum, please contact Jackie MacVean at jmacvean@fftc.org.
