In 2009, a group of citizens concerned about the impact of the 2008 global financial crisis on Charlotte's nonprofit sector came together to explore how the community might respond to the increasing challenges of area nonprofits to meet the growing needs of the community despite unparalleled revenue losses. The result of that effort was the development of the Community Catalyst Fund, an ongoing initiative dedicated to providing the Charlotte nonprofit sector with support for strategic transformations, including innovative service models, collaborations, partnerships and mergers.

On July 12, the NCNG Chapel Hill Funders will be joined via SKYPE by Brian Collier, Senior Vice President for Community Programs and Civic Leadership at the Foundations For The Carolinas which administers the Community Catalyst Fund. Brian will discuss the fund and share results and findings from a study commissioned by the Community Catalyst Fund regarding the feasibility and challenges of collaboration among Charlotte area nonprofits.
