During this election year, there
is a lot of buzz about the impact that minority voters will have this
fall and in future elections. Recent
philanthropic conferences in North Carolina by
national collaboratives like Funders Committee for Civic Participation and
Grantmakers Concerned with Immigrants and Refugees have highlighted the
importance of our state in these conversations. Broad and inclusive
civic engagement and participation are an
important part of any healthy democracy and foundations as well as nonprofits have a unique opportunity to make a
difference in this arena.
Join this webinar to hear from Clarissa
Martinez-De-Castro, Director, Immigration and Civic Engagement at the National
Council of La Raza, James Perry, Executive Director at the Greater New Orleans
Fair Housing Action Center, and Bill Vandenberg, Director, Democracy and Power
Fund at the Open Society Foundation about efforts to make civic engagement
more equitable and inclusive.
