The
North Carolina Network of Grantmakers is collaborating with Student Action with Farmworkers and the Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation to learn about
issues affecting migrant and seasonal farmworkers in North Carolina. A primarily Latino and
immigrant population, this community is one of the lowest paid, least
protected, and under-served populations in the state and nation. This intensive workshop will give participants the opportunity to learn more about the health, education, and
legal issues affecting this community, have dinner and hear directly from
farmworkers during a labor camp visit, and have a chance to debrief and brainstorm
potential responses to the concerns that are raised.
