The Winston-Salem Foundation's Todd Slate is Awarded

"CFO of the Year” for Nonprofits

WINSTON-SALEM, NC - – The Business Journal of the Greater Triad recently announced that Todd Slate, The Winston-Salem Foundation's Vice President of Finance and Administration, has been named "CFO of the Year” for Nonprofits.

Todd has been a financial leader at the Foundation for 19 years. His responsibilities include serving as the liaison between the Foundation's Finance and Investment Committee and external investment managers, monitoring investment performance, managing the unitized accounting of endowments, and preparing the Foundation's financial statements and tax returns.

The Winston-Salem Foundation is a community foundation that supports charitable programs in the greater Forsyth County area. Founded in 1919 by Colonel Francis Fries with a $1,000 gift, it now administers over 1,200 funds, and had total custodial assets of $244 million at the end of 2009. In 2009, the Foundation granted more than $17 million to charitable causes, almost $2 million of which was in Community Grants.
