North Carolina GlaxoSmithKline Foundation Seeks Nominations for Child Health Recognition Awards

From: MarketWatch The North Carolina GlaxoSmithKline Foundation is
seeking nominations for local health departments, public health staff,
and individuals who have improved the health of North Carolina's
children through innovative, collaborative programs. Awards of up to
$2,000 will be presented to the North Carolina Public Health Association
(NCPHA) for scholarships in the name of the recipients of the Lifetime
and Individual awards. Grants will be presented to Health Departments and Public Health Staff awardees.
Nominations for the following categories are due by 5:00 pm Thursday, May 31, 2012:
Individual Recognition Award, given to a person who has made an
outstanding contribution to improving children's health services through
a single effort;
Lifetime Achievement Award, given to an individual who has made an
outstanding contribution to improving children's health services over a
period of time;
Public Health Staff Recognition Award, given to an employee of local
health departments to recognize outstanding service in preventive health
activities; and
Local Health Department Recognition Award, given to health departments that have developed innovative programs producing measurable, sustainable outcomes.
A ceremony honoring recipients will be held at the New Bern Convention
Center in New Bern on Wednesday, September 19, 2012, as part of North
Carolina Public Health Association's annual meeting. To share best
practices, experiences and innovations, an awards booklet is produced
annually. NCPHA will manage the awards program nominations, and
nominations are due to the NCPHA, 3000 Industrial Drive, Suite 140,
Raleigh, NC, 27609, by 5 p.m. on Thursday, May 31, 2012. Contact
