COVID-19 Response Fund for Forsyth County Awards Second Round of Grants: over $1.4 Million to 36 Local Nonprofits to Help Community Members

A total of $1,471,000 has been awarded to 36 local nonprofits in the second round of grants awarded from the COVID-19 Response Fund for Forsyth County. These grants will ensure rapid funding for nonprofit organizations meeting basic needs for community members impacted by the pandemic, including food, shelter, housing, and emergency financial assistance.

The Salvation Army Receives $2 Million from SECU/SECU Foundation For Emergency Services

Raleigh, N.C. – State Employees’ Credit Union (SECU) and the SECU Foundation are partnering with The Salvation Army to help the non-profit deliver emergency services to North Carolinians impacted by the COVID-19 crisis. Donations of $1 million each from SECU and the Foundation will provide The Salvation Army with funds to help deliver basic services to people across North Carolina in need of food, shelter, or emergency financial assistance. The donations are part of a joint commitment by SECU and the SECU Foundation to provide up to $10 million for COVID-19 disaster relief efforts. To date a total of $4 million has been awarded.

SECU and SECU Foundation Provide Food with a $2 Million Donation to Feeding the Carolinas

Raleigh, N.C. – Feeding the Carolinas, North Carolina’s statewide network of food banks, has received a total of $2 million in donations from State Employees’ Credit Union (SECU) and the SECU Foundation. The $1 million donation from each entity will help the food banks secure the supplies they need to provide food to those facing hunger in communities across the state. These are the first of multiple donations anticipated from the joint commitment of $10 million ($5 million from each entity) to assist non-profit organizations in relief and recovery efforts from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Danville, VA (April 8, 2020) – The Community Foundation of the Dan River Region (CFDRR) has received a $100,000 challenge grant from the Danville Regional Foundation (DRF) benefitting the Coronavirus Relief Fund. This fund was recently established to help nonprofit organizations respond locally to the COVID-19 pandemic.
