Community Foundation of Henderson County Announces 2020 Sauer Charitable Leadership Award Recipients

Hendersonville, N.C., October 16, 2020 – Community Foundation of Henderson County celebrated their 2019-2020 year in a virtual Annual Meeting where the recipients of the 2020 Richard C. and Vina L. Sauer Charitable Leadership Award were announced. The Foundation’s traditional in-person Annual Luncheon held each August was cancelled due to current public health conditions. The Annual Meeting video included highlights of the Community Foundation’s past fiscal year and grantmaking, in addition to the announcement of the 2020 Sauer Charitable Leadership Award. The video can be accessed through Community Foundation’s website, CFHCforever.org.

Foundation Announces First Mission-Aligned Investment to Piedmont Business Capital

WINSTON-SALEM, NC (OCTOBER 14, 2020)—The Winston-Salem Foundation (WSF) announces the first investment from its new Inclusive Economy Portfolio, a mission-aligned investment fund created to support local businesses and organizations working for social change. The Foundation’s $100,000 investment is being made to nonprofit community lender Piedmont Business Capital (PBC) to provide loans to businesses that are owned by and benefit communities of color in Forsyth County.

Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro and Phillips Foundation Announce New Revolving Loan Fund for COVID-19 Recovery

Greensboro, NC – The Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro (CFGG) today announced that it is implementing a $250,000 grant from the Phillips Foundation to catalyze a new Revolving Loan Fund (RLF). This grant capital will provide friendly loans to eligible nonprofit organizations and social enterprises recovering from the challenges of COVID-19.

Triangle Community Foundation’s Conservation Transaction Program Awards Two New Grants, Bringing Total Conserved Acres Supported to 267 since 2015

Research Triangle Park, October 9, 2020: Triangle Community Foundation has announced two new grants through its land conservation transaction program, bringing the total of conserved land the Foundation has helped conserve to 267 acres since 2015. The two most recent projects collectively received over $32,000 in funding to support vital conservation in the region.
