Community Foundation of Henderson County Welcomes New Staff Members to Support Growth and Philanthropy Initiatives

The Community Foundation of Henderson County (CFHC) is excited to
announce two valuable additions to their team. Ashton Turnage has been appointed as the new Public Relations & Philanthropic Growth Officer, while Alexis Boyd has joined as an Accountant. Both Ashton and Alexis bring a wealth of knowledge and a shared commitment to serving the Henderson County community.

Ashton Turnage, originally from Eastern North Carolina, fell in love with the captivating beauty of Western North Carolina and relocated there in 2011. After a brief period in California, her heart led her back to the majestic Blue Ridge Mountains in 2021. With a background in the financial industry and a recent shift to the non-profit sector,
Ashton's extensive experience positions her perfectly for her role as the Public Relations & Philanthropic Growth Officer at CFHC. She combines her professional leadership skills with a natural gift for storytelling, earning her the endearing moniker of the "newspaper reporter." Ashton will leverage her talents to support all aspects of the Foundation and engage diverse audiences in advocating for charitable causes.

Alexis Boyd, a native of Henderson County, brings a deep connection to the community and a strong educational background to her role as Accountant at CFHC. Recognized for her academic achievements, Alexis was awarded the prestigious Community Foundation of Henderson County's Ray V. Dunk Accounting Scholarship in 2018. After
earning her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BS/BA) in Finance from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, she decided to return to Hendersonville to contribute her skills and knowledge to her hometown community. In her new role, Alexis will be responsible for maintaining meticulous financial records and systems, supporting the Audit, Finance, and Investment Committees, and assisting donors in fulfilling their
charitable interests.

"We are delighted to welcome Ashton Turnage as our new Public Relations & Philanthropic Growth Officer and Alexis Boyd as our new Accountant," said McCray Benson, President and CEO at the Community Foundation of Henderson County. "Ashton's storytelling abilities and commitment to growth, combined with Alexis' financial knowledge and attention to detail, make them invaluable assets to our team."
