The charitable sector is operating today in an uncertain environment. Nonprofits have seen their very survival threatened, while foundations are facing new and worrying levels of scrutiny targeting both their freedom and their resources.  These concerns have emerged even as philanthropy continues to address long-running disparities throughout our region.

But while the challenges we face are many, we refuse to be overwhelmed by them. Instead, we choose to embrace a radical hope for better things, and a steadfast belief that philanthropy is capable of the bold action needed to face what is in front of us.
