During this session, The Endowment will present the results of its 2026 New Hanover County Behavioral Health and Early Childhood Education Landscape Assessments. Together, we will explore emerging insights, examine where our work intersects, and identify opportunities for strategic partnerships that can drive collective impact. The session will also feature colleagues from Mosaic Group and NC Child.

Leanna Martin, Ph.D.
Director of Early Childhood Education Policy and Research, NC Child
A lifelong North Carolinian, Leanna began her career as a child care floater, a summer job that sparked her enduring commitment to children and families. Her experience as a high school teacher and nonprofit analyst strengthened her belief in making research and policy accessible and actionable. Today, as Director of Early Childhood Education Policy and Research at NC Child, she works to create meaningful, lasting change for children and families across the state. Leanna holds a bachelor’s degree in Spanish from UNC Greensboro, a master’s degree in counseling with a concentration in holistic child development from Lee University, and a Ph.D. in educational leadership, policy, and human development with a concentration in educational evaluation and policy analysis from NC State University.
Marla Oros, RN, MS, FAAN
Founder & President, Mosaic Group
Marla Oros is the Founder and President of The Mosaic Group, a distinguished health care management consulting firm based in Baltimore, Maryland. With over 40 years of professional experience in community-based health care, program development, and health care administration, Ms. Oros leads her team in providing technical assistance to health and human service organizations, public agencies, and foundations. Holding a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from the
University of Maryland, Baltimore, and a Master of Science in Health Care Administration from Towson State University, her expertise spans strategic planning, business development, program design, and operations analysis. Ms. Oros is nationally acclaimed for her work in population health and behavioral health services, earning prestigious awards such as the American Public Health Association's Vision Award for Health Planning, the University of Maryland School of Nursing's Visionary Pioneers recognition, and the Addiction Policy Forum's Pillar of Excellence award for innovative hospital opioid response work. Under her leadership, The Mosaic Group has become synonymous with excellence in community-based program development, partnering with leading national philanthropic organizations, health systems, and public agencies. Over the past 20 years, Ms. Oros and her organization have spearheaded research and practice innovations, fostering greater health equity in communities nationwide.
