From the Center for Effective Philanthropy (CEP)

Tuesday, May 12, 2026
12:00 PM - 1:00 PM (EDT)

Event Details

Under extraordinary pressure, nonprofits across the U.S. continue to serve their communities in countless vital ways. But how are these organizations — and their leaders — faring? What is their outlook for the coming year, and what do they need donors to understand? In this session, the Center for Effective Philanthropy will present the 2026 findings of its annual State of Nonprofits survey, now in its fourth year. This newly collected data reveals both the challenges facing nonprofits, concerning trends emerging over the years, and and how leaders are adapting to meet this moment.

Joining us to discuss the findings are:

  • Diane Yentel, President and CEO, National Council of Nonprofits
  • Dr. Laura Gerald, President, Kate B. Reynolds Charitable Trust
  • Sister Norma Pimentel, Executive Director, Catholic Charities of Rio Grande Valley (CCRGV) and one of 2026 Time Magazine's Women of the Year
  • Elisha Smith Arrillaga, Ph.D., Vice President, Research, CEP
  • Stephanie Beasley, Fellowship Director and Senior Writer, Chronicle of Philanthropy (Moderator)
