Darius Graham named new president of Cone Health Foundation
Cone Health Foundation today announced that Darius Graham has joined the organization as the new President, effective July 27, following a nationwide search.
Graham is an accomplished leader in philanthropy and community investment, with extensive experience advancing health equity and addressing the social drivers of health through collaborative, community-centered strategies.
He most recently served as Managing Director for Community Investment at the Greater Washington Community Foundation, the largest local funder in the nation’s capital, where he led grantmaking, programs, public policy, impact evaluation and cross-sector partnerships. In that role, he helped guide initiatives that expanded opportunity, strengthened nonprofit capacity and aligned resources to better serve historically underserved communities.
“Darius is a visionary and collaborative leader whose experience and values align closely with the mission of the Cone Health Foundation,” said Ursula Robinson, Chair of the Foundation’s Board of Directors. “He has a proven ability to bring people together across sectors to address complex challenges and deliver meaningful results. We are excited to welcome him to Greensboro and confident in his leadership as we continue to advance health equity in our city.”
Prior to his current role, Graham led regional grantmaking and strategic initiatives at The Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation and held leadership roles at Johns Hopkins University, where he launched and led programs focused on innovation and community impact. Across his career, he has built partnerships among health care systems, nonprofits, government agencies and community stakeholders to drive sustainable change.
A North Carolina native, Graham brings a deep appreciation for the community served by Cone Health Foundation and a commitment to listening and collaboration.
