Tom Gomes

First connected with Cape Fear Collective (CFC) during his studies at UNC Wilmington, where he earned degrees in Environmental Science and a Masters in Public Administration, Tom began as a CFC intern before starting his postgrad career as a Research Analyst at Carolina Demography in Chapel Hill. He was fortunate to return to Wilmington to join CFC as a Data Scientist, contributing to impactful projects with organizations like the Kate B. Reynolds Trust and Smart Start of New Hanover County. Now in his current role, he bridges the needs of nonprofit organizations across North Carolina with the innovative capacity of CFC’s data science team, helping to turn community challenges into actionable solutions.
