Fund the Work, Not the Model

October 5, 2022

The variety of successes in the NC Food Hub Collaborative demonstrate why it’s important to fund the work, not the model. Join Monica McCann, Program Director of Resourceful Communities, Davon Goodwin, Executive Director of Sandhills AgInnovation Center, and Carla Norwood, Executive Director of Working Landscapes, to understand:

  • The work looks different based on community needs. Each food hub may have the same mission, but they don’t try to replicate each other’s models.
  • How to “right-size” expectations rooted in community priorities. Meaningful impact doesn’t have to scale or spread across the state.
  • Nonprofits organizations can’t continuously innovate without their ideas, partnerships and collaboration being nurtured and funded.
